Ford’s Program Offers Complimentary Chargers, Installation, And Enhanced EV Support, Driving Adoption Alongside Record-Breaking EV Sales Growth
Ford has revealed a noteworthy extension of its Ford Power Promise program, which provides complimentary home chargers and standard installation for new electric vehicle (EV) buyers.
According to Ford, its Ford Power Promise program has been extended and will now continue through March 31, 2025. The Power Promise program addresses one of the most influential barriers to EV adoption: the complexity and cost of setting up home charging infrastructure. Eligible customers purchasing or leasing 2024 or 2025 models of the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit Cargo Van will receive not only a complimentary home charger but also standard installation services.
Moreover, this approach has already shown exceptional results, with Ford’s Model e retail director, Stacey Ferreira, reporting that around 85% of installations have been completed without additional costs to customers, and installations are typically completed within 11 days of initial quotation.
In addition, the program includes several features designed to enhance the overall EV ownership experience. Customers gain access to the BlueOval Charge Network, which now includes Tesla Superchargers, providing a seamless charging experience through the FordPass app’s Plug and Charge functionality. The program also includes an eight-year/100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty and round-the-clock support from Ford advisors, including roadside assistance with charging solutions.
Notably, the extension arrives at a climactic time for Ford’s EV division, which earned strong growth across its entire EV lineup in 2024. The Mustang Mach-E saw a 27% increase in sales with 51,745 units delivered, securing its position as the second-best-selling electric SUV in the United States (U.S.) after the Tesla Model Y. The F-150 Lightning experienced even stronger growth, with sales jumping 39% to 33,510 units, while the E-Transit showed the strongest percentage growth with a 64% increase to 12,610 units.
The program’s extension reflects Ford’s understanding that the transition to EVs requires more than just innovative models – it demands a comprehensive ecosystem that supports and simplifies the EV ownership experience. By addressing concerns around charging infrastructure and ongoing support, the progress to remove barriers to EV adoption and build confidence among potential EV buyers is accelerating.
